Ensuring Supply Chains

Universal Forwarder has been providing logistics of import / export containers since 2018. Our key clients are the largest metallurgical enterprises in Russia, producing a broad range of flat and long products: hot-rolled and cold-rolled coils, wire rod, fittings, bars, rolled steel section, pipes and other billets, metal hardware.

First of all, we ensure the delivery and forwarding of the most expensive products like transformer electrical steel with one roll valued at RUB 350 000 and more (as of 2021).

We supply raw commodities and equipment to industrial enterprises from China, Europe, South and North America.
We provide forwarding service for containerized exports worldwide, including India, China, Korea, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia, Italy, Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil and other countries.
We arrange domestic transportation, including in short-sea containers for further unpacking and consolidation of bulk shipload lots at seaports.

Benefits of Switching to Container Logistics

All import containers with raw materials and spare parts for equipment delivered to the production sites are used for further export.
The client does not have to return empty containers to the port with no charging a drop-off fee.
The freight forwarder controls the terms of utilization of empty containers, which excludes unforeseen expenses for demurrage.
Containers are transferred from import to export at the end of the free import period, even if the containers are not stripped yet.
The client receives from an ocean line an extended total period of free use (up to 45 days) of containers.

The main result is the obvious minimization of end-to-end logistics costs.

Exports and Short-Sea Trade

Export shipments are the basis of container traffic for domestic industry enterprises. Together with our clients, we develop and implement on a monthly basis new container logistics solutions for various types of cargo. From heavy-lift and oversized equipment to lighter palletized food package units.

We containerize various cargo flows
We use for various types of cargo both specialized containers (High Cube, Tank Containers, Flatracks, and others), and special flexible insets for containers (flexi-tanks, liner bags).

We standardize the transportation of rolled steel
We have developed and implemented together with the consignor schemes for packing, placement and dispatch of heavy steel coils weighing up to 16 tonnes.

We transport products in containers on domestic transportation routes
We arrange carriage of containers from the place of stuffing (CFSs) to the point of stripping the containers (at seaports), if the terms of the contract prescribe the shipping of cargo by multipurpose vessels (dry bulk carrier, tankers).

Depending on the capabilities of the CFS of our customers, we apply the following schemes of containers packing in various locations:

Directly at the enterprise yard;

At an inland regional terminal (in the vicinity of the manufacturer’s facility);

In the port or at a near-dock CFS.

Each time, we choose the most optimal shipment scheme in terms of overall logistics costs, cargo safety and delivery terms of the contract.

Imports

Import container deliveries to Russian industrial enterprises ensure the delivery of rare expensive raw materials, equipment, spare parts and consumables.

We arrange for our clients an uninterrupted supply of rare earth oxides and special additives for the metallurgical industry from the Middle East and North America. Deliveries can be performed on various shipping terms (DAP, DDP, FOB) under direct contracts between the consignee and suppliers.
