Using Transportation Mode
Universal Forwarder interacts with a wide range of owners and operators, shipping companies, rail and road haulage services and air carriers. The choice of a specific service provider is based on the requirements and conditions of transportation, the technical capabilities of the counterparty, and the development of competitive offers.
For multimodal routes, we select carriers that are the best in their region, capable of ensuring the safety, reliability and timeliness of the project cargo delivery.
We arrange the delivery of project equipment, heavylifts and OOG loads:
By railway trainsRailway platforms make it possible to deliver project cargo with an overall width of up to 4.48 meters. As a rule, railway transportation is used by enterprises that have their own railroad siding facilities. They provide transportation of cargo both on the main and local sections of the route.
By inland ships. Mixed ‘river-sea’ class vessels allow taking on board project cargoes of maximum dimensions and tonnage, executing transportation by inland waterways between the seaports of the Baltic, Azov, Black, Caspian seas and enterprises based in the European part of Russia.
By tractor trucks. Tractor-trailer trucks with special multi-axle semi-trailers make it possible to transport a project cargo weighing 40 tonnes and more on public roads. Truck haulage allows us to pick up and deliver cargo to remote places with no railway stations, river and air terminals. As a rule the mode is used on short haulage, and for ‘first-mile’ and ‘last-mile’ delivery.
By sea-going vessels. Dry bulk carriers are involved in the international transportation of import and export project cargo. We charter tramp ships, specialized pontoons and ‘river-sea’ barges that can deliver cargo between ports in compliance with international shipping standards.
