Dry Bulk Cargo

Transportation of dry cargo in bulk is the traditional and most cost-effective solution to deliver industrial goods from the producer to the final destination. This method is suitable for raw material shipments, as well as non-primary downstream products. These are ore, coal, petcoke, wood, grain and oil seeds, mineral fertilizers, pig iron, lumber and wood pellets, and other products.

Universal Forwarder has been providing services for the reception, dry bulk handling in the Russian ports of the Baltic and Azov-Black Sea basins and CIS states’ ports for more than 14 years. Commonly, this bulk cargo is delivered to the sea terminals in open-top wagons (grain — in open-top hoppers), discharged and stored until a shipload is ready to be loaded onto a chartered vessel.

• Receiving shipping instructions from the client, issuing loading orders;
• Operational accounting and verification of cargo tally arriving at the port;
• Informing the client about the progress of loading / unloading;
• Fulfillment of orders for customs, quarantine and sanitary formalities;
• Ensuring timely receipt of permits for loading by supervisory and regulatory authorities;
• Ensuring the issuance of certificates for a shipload lot, provision of survey service;
• Client representation (file a report for rail transportation, full-scale inventory in the port, cargo packing);
• Making settlements from the client's funds with transport, expert and other organizations involved in the logistics process;
• Drawing up and control of goods shipping documents;
• Consultations on the handling of foreign trade cargo, warehousing, storage, processing in the port and on sea-going transport;
• Analysis and situation forecast in the port, measures to minimize the risks of cargo damage, delays, and other material damage to the client.
