Universal Forwarder is capable of arranging inland and sea transportation of goods engaging the vessels of Volga Shipping Company (Volga Flot).
Volga Flot is one of the largest shipping companies in Russia, founded in 1843. The company operates more than 230 dry cargo and tanker fleet units of a total DWT exceeding 1.0 million tonnes. It provides services for the waterborne transportation of dry bulk, general, liquid bulk and project cargoes on Russia’s inland waterways, on mixed ‘river-sea’ routes and international maritime shipping lanes in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Caspian Sea.
Transportation of Project Cargo
A subsidiary of Volga Shipping Company "Volga-Baltic Logistic" (VBL) arranges transportation of project cargo. The capabilities of Volga Shipping’s fleet and the VBL specialists’ skills make it possible to perform the cost-effective transportation (towing) both from equipment manufacturers based in Asia, North America and Europe, and from Russian enterprises, most of which are located in close proximity to domestic inland waterways of the Russian Federation.
The MV Rusich, the MV Valdai, the MV Amethyst, the MV Neva-Leader, the MV Volzhsky with a deadweight of up to 7000 tonnes are the backbone of Volga Shipping’s fleet involved in shipping of project cargo, as well as non-self-propelled barges, including the 102m-long sea-going deck cargo barge, one-of-a-kind vessel in Russia.
The shallow-draft fleet enables the company to transport heavy-lift, oversized equipment both by sea-going and inland ships. The vessels dimensions and draft allow transportation on inland waterways of Russian and river system of European countries. In addition, the ships are deployed on the Northern Sea Route delivering cargo to the river ports in the Ob’-Irtysh-Yenisei basin
If necessary, some specialized ships and other vessels can be built at the shipbuilding facilities of partner enterprises to transport some unique out-of-gauge equipment or perform any other specific tasks on river or at sea.
